How To Find Your Purpose And Passion In Life

How To Find Your Purpose And Passion In Life

Life will begin to find meaning the moment you discover your purpose.

How to discover your purpose and passion in life will not be a difficult task if you are able to single out time for it quite early. One of the ways to be satisfied, blissful, relaxed and enjoy inner peace and ultimate achievement is that you learn how to find your purpose and passion in life and start living it.

Finding your purpose in life is the compass that keeps you on life’s journey. In as much as the road may not look so smooth but there are strong prospects that you will work with a sense of understanding.

For some persons, they have a set talent and they find it early enough, they take time to develop it with persistence. These talents develop into skills and the next step is linking it to why we are on earth. How to find your passion is keyed into what your talents are.

A child at 8 years who realizes he is good at singing sees singing as a talent. While he grows up, he needs to work on his talent and then he enrolls in a music academy for extra knowledge. He is brushing up his skill at this point.

Soon enough, he finds out that he can sing at ease without any stress or external motivation. Singing becomes his passion. The final step is to realize why he is meant to sing. With this, he is looking for a problem to solve with what he does.

Fyodor Dostoyevsky rightly said that “the mystery of human existence lies not in just staying alive but finding something to live for”. That, in exact is your purpose. You were not born into life by chance.

There is a particular mission you came for and the only way that life can make sense to you is when you find our purpose. The difference between passion and purpose is not a difficult thing to understand. Your feelings drive your passion but your purpose asks the question, Why?

  • Why are you alive?
  • Why are you on earth?
  • Why do you do the things you do?

To further buttress, assuming you are passionate about writing like I am, then, the issues your writings solves is called purpose. Discovering your God-given purpose is the main essence why we are alive.

For some people, finding your passion may not be an easy task. Especially for people who are multi-talented. You may have even gone for counseling and have been asked personal questions like, “How do you discover your purpose?”, “How do you find your passion?”, “what are the things that excite you when you do them?” having answers to these questions is the first step on how to find your purpose and passion in life.

Look:

What you pay most of your attention to is what sets you on the path of finding your passion. To be passionate about something means you can do that thing for people at any time without necessarily needing or asking for a payment.

Passion is that drive that makes you strive to be perfect at something you definitely love doing. So, how do you find your passion? Check out what you love doing. What is that one thing that even if it became commercialized, you can do it for someone perfectly and excellently even where money is not involved? Then and only then would you know that you have found your passion.

Purpose is something that you have while passion is something that has you. After finding your passion, you get in contact with the two greatest abilities in life. They are responsibility and reliability.

How To Find Your Purpose And Passion In Life

How To Discover Your Purpose

One way to discover your purpose is to ask, “What exactly is the problem that I’ll like to solve?” In most of the areas you find your gifting, that’s where, most times, your purpose lies. Purpose gets you selfless. And as such, your inner life is your purpose.

Mr. Cheerful Light once said that “if you don’t find your inner life, you will be a slave to our surroundings”. Your inner life is that part of you that if it is taken away, you cease to exist. Your inner life is your purpose.

So, for example, if a girl who has grown up around accountants and just feels her purpose is to be an accountant searches deep, she may realize that it might not be the right case. Just because you are busy going somewhere doesn’t mean you are really going somewhere.

Your purpose is tied to wherever you are going in life. Being an accountant is not a purpose, it’s a platform to help fulfill your purpose. It’s about what you can do for others.

Note: Ambition is often mistaken for a purpose. But ambitions are just ambitions. Purpose is what leads you to your Ministry and ministry doesn’t fall within the four walls of a church. Your ministry is seen in WHY you are alive and why you were called.

This also connects with you finding your purpose in God. There’s a difference between passion and God’s will for you. God’s will for you is enveloped around your purpose in life. One requires you to be selfless and one may see you selfish.

Anything that will make you be selfless is what God has called you into. In answering the question of how to find your purpose and passion in life, you will first be required to find God. The minimum requirement for being alive is to discover your purpose and live it.

Because the population of life is so enormous, it is easy to get lost in the crowd. You have to fight for your visibility. You came as the answer to someone’s cry.

Your purpose has already been programmed inside you. You don’t need to pray it down, you need to find it. One way on how to find your purpose and passion in life is to become a student of yourself.

Study yourself. Practice solitude. Most people get easily bored when they have an opportunity to sit and know themselves. They prefer to keep busy with knowing everything about other people and the lives they live. Take yourself seriously.

The more specific you are the easier and faster you are to achieve purpose and passion in life. Proverbs 20:5 exhorts, “the purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out.”

Conclusion:

The issue of how to find your purpose and passion in life is one of the reasons why we are alive. We live to please God. Colossians 1:16 rightly puts, “For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him.”

Living a purposeful life is one sure way to live in the plan of God for your life. When you find out that the things you have made efforts to do are just not working out, check if it is in the plan of God for your life.

Romans 8:28 says: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

In essence, we are alive to please God and we are to make effort to find out how we are to please Him. With this, how to find your purpose and passion in life will come easy.
