It’s harmful to the relationship as well because decisions will be taken based on these feelings, character may change, and amongst other things, communication could cease. Relationship anxiety can influence both negatively and positively but the negative sides outweigh the positive sides.

When partners are physically or verbally abusive, it can lead to anxiety on the part of the partner who is suffering from such victimizing lifestyle. Callous language and physical terrorization could cause one to go frenzy. This could increase the rate of anxiety put on the relationship. This could be how anxiety ruins relationships. 

Another instance can be seen in partners who don’t fancy being committed in relationships because they feel that their commitment may make them miss out on something really good. 

Others might have relationship anxiety because they fear what a relationship holds for them as they have never been in a relationship before or a case that their past relationship had put them through a lot of trauma. In cases like this, trust cannot be built. This can ruin the success of a potentially good relationship.

If you want to determine if your relationship has traits of anxiety, either on your part or on the part of your partner look out for some major things. When your partner is suffering from insomnia, he/she loses the ability to have a good sleep.

If a relationship is putting you through undue anxiety, you either walk out of it or try to save it; that is if it is worth saving.

Another thing to note as well is that if relationship anxiety comes as a result of the character traits of your partner, then instead of trying to change the person, change your view about the person and watch if the person is intent on changing as well. 

If the toxic person is you, then it cannot be more emphasized than to work on your character. You can’t change anyone. It is only them that can change themselves. So, both way, there must be a change and change begins with you. This is how to deal with relationship anxiety.

Furthermore, you have to engage in anxiety-reducing activities. Quit thinking and being in solitude. Be among people that can spark up happiness in you. Go on vacations. Go exercising. It helps you become mentally fit, and of course, it reduces the pressure on you.

One basic thing to do when you get anxious is to have some time studying God’s word and praying. He is the only one that can heal you of anxiety. “The more you pray, the less you’ll panic. The more you worship, the less you worry. You’ll feel more patient and less pressured”,

It is so easy to feel anxiety, fear, worry, and so on, in life and also in a relationship. When this happens, our lives seem to be out of control. Relationship anxiety is of this world but we should not allow it to overwhelm us. 

Scriptures talk about how to be in this world but not of this world in John 15:19. If you can talk to God then you know how to deal with relationship anxiety.

Psalm 56:3 rightly encourages us to put our trust in God even when times of fear, doubt, and anxiety creep in. adhering to this is how to deal with relationship anxiety.
