45 Bible Verses About Babies Being A Blessing

Bible Verses About Babies Being A Blessing

Hey reader, I think even the coldest heart will agree that children are such a bundle of joy (at least until they start crawling into all the places they have no business being in 😁), little wonder that the bible makes reference to them in so many different contexts!

They tend to be great reflections of innocence, trust, forgiveness and blunt honesty. The Bible shows us in many different verses of the bible across both the old and New Testaments, exactly how God sees children and what he thinks of them. These Bible verses about babies being a blessing will not just point out the blessings in childbearing and rearing, but will also teach us of how important babies and children, in general, are to the Father, as well as how to raise them up.

Before you continue on this journey into “Bible Verses About Babies Being A Blessing”, it is important you know that ALL babies are a blessing and their parentage is no mistake. Yes, even those babies conceived of rape and abuse… No life can exist or be formed outside of God, if a child is conceived it is because he has willed it to be so.

Now that we have that out of the way, I'm sure you're excited to get on with the “Verses About Babies Being A Blessing”, I definitely am!! Stay with us till the end and thank us later.

45 Bible Verses About Babies Being A Blessing

Psalm 127:3
Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.

He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children. Praise the Lord.

Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.

Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. 5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.

And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

“See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.

These two verses from Matthew are truly phenomenal, for God to hold children so dearly as they portray! It's truly beautiful to know that tiny and insignificant as they may seem to grown-ups, they are not insignificant to God. “Bible Verses About Babies Being A Blessing” would not be complete without these verses.

But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table.

Then Esau looked up and saw the women and children. “Who are these with you?” he asked. Jacob answered, “They are the children God has graciously given your servant.”

The father of a righteous child has great joy; a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him.

You will be blessed more than any other people; none of your men or women will be childless, nor will any of your livestock be without young.

But women will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Here am I, and the children the Lord has given me. We are signs and symbols in Israel from the Lord Almighty, who dwells on Mount Zion.

“Sing, barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy, you who were never in labor; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband,” says the Lord . 2 “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. 3 For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities. 4 “Do not be afraid; you will not be put to shame. Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated. You will forget the shame of your youth and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood. 5 For your Maker is your husband— the Lord Almighty is his name— the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth.

Over and over again, scripture reiterates that children (babies) are given by God and since we already know that he is good and always working for our good, we know that they are blessings.

The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.

So I counsel younger widows to marry, to have children, to manage their homes and to give the enemy no opportunity for slander.

6 Because the Lord had closed Hannah’s womb, her rival kept provoking her in order to irritate her. 7 This went on year after year. Whenever Hannah went up to the house of the Lord, her rival provoked her till she wept and would not eat. 10 In her deep anguish Hannah prayed to the Lord, weeping bitterly. 13 Hannah was praying in her heart, and her lips were moving but her voice was not heard. Eli thought she was drunk 15 “Not so, my Lord,” Hannah replied, “I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the Lord. 17 Eli answered, “Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant you what you have asked of him.” 20 So in the course of time Hannah became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, saying, “Because I asked the Lord for him.”

By your hand save me from such people, Lord, from those of this world whose reward is in this life. May what you have stored up for the wicked fill their bellies; may their children gorge themselves on it, and may there be leftovers for their little ones.

You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

The verse from the Psalms as seen above and the verse from Exodus immediately after it show us that children are so significant that in punishing the wicked, afflictions on their children are on the same level with affecting their material wealth.

Has not the one God made you? You belong to him in body and spirit. And what does the one God seek? Godly offspring. So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful to the wife of your youth.

As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.

The next couple of verses show us that God is very interested in the way babies are brought up. If there were just nuisances and mistakes, the Father would definitely have spared no interest for them. This is definitely a good reason for these verses to be included in the list of “Bible Verses About Babies Being A Blessing”.

Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 19 Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 20 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates,

Discipline your children, and they will give you peace; they will bring you the delights you desire.

Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them.

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.

All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace.

Like I mentioned earlier, surely God would not concern himself with insignificant things, the detail in which he takes up the concerns of children in the verses above further prove that they are far from insignificant.

Mark 9:36‭-‬37
He took a little child whom he placed among them. Taking the child in his arms, he said to them, 37 “Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.”

Genesis 13:16
I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted.

This last scripture on “Bible Verses About Babies Being A Blessing” from the promise of God to Abraham in Genesis 13 reminds us that babies are a means through which God delivers blessings. It isn't just that there are potential future sources of blessings, but that they are blessings themselves.

Conclusively, if after careful study of the compiled “Bible Verses About Babies Being A Blessing” you still harbor misgivings about children, think then on this very simple fact; you too were once a baby! I doubt you would refer to yourself as a nuisance or waste of oxygen!
